Exploring the Link between Public Involvement/Citizen Engagement and Quality Health Care, Health Canada, 2003.

This literature review, developed by Health Canada, is aimed at presenting a review and analysis of literature from around the world that examines the links between public involvement/CE and quality health care. The final chapter, a “Discussion of Key Findings,” outlines several useful principles and key learnings. While no comprehensive conclusion on the link between public involvement/CE and quality health care was identified, the findings can be applied by all community engagement practitioners planning for CE. It is possibly most useful to those readers exploring this link themselves, or to those wishing to “make the case” for the use of CE in the health care sector.
