Consultation with First Nations and Métis People, Government of Saskatchewan, 2012 (website).

This guide was developed by the Government of Saskatchewan to guide government employees and decision-makers in consultations with First Nations and Métis people, in part to satisfy its “duty to consult” regarding any legislation, policy or program that could adversely affect the rights of First Nation or Métis people. The guide concisely defines consultation, presents good consultation principles, and outlines a process for conducting consultation with First Nation or Métis people. This is a basic but excellent, high-level primer on what this type of consultation means in principle, but stops short of providing concrete examples of what its consultation principles could look like in practice.
