NorthEast LHIN Draft Community Engagement Strategy, 2006.

This is an early strategy document developed by the NorthEast LHIN in Ontario. The draft document was prepared as a first step in building a plan to foster positive stakeholder and community relationships, and to encourage stakeholder involvement in all aspects of regional health service planning activities (in keeping with provincial LHIN legislation). The report provides background to CE (goals, objectives, principles, levels of engagement, approaches), defines LHIN stakeholders and identifies opportunities for CE. Note that the final section of the strategy outlines an approach to evaluating the effectiveness of CE activities, including proposed measures of success. This is a useful case example of a process for CE strategy development at the regional health system level.
